A client recently requested all their Thunderbird emails in Outlook PST format. Thunderbird doesn’t offer a direct export to PST, so I’ve been looking for a solution that works on macOS without requiring Windows or Outlook to be installed.
The MacSonik Thunderbird Backup Tool seems designed specifically for this. Besides exporting Thunderbird emails to PST, it also converts them into PDF, EML, MBOX, MSG, DOC, DOCX, HTML, TIFF, JPG, PNG, GIF, CSV, and several other formats.
What impressed me most is its PST splitting feature. Instead of creating one massive PST file, it allows splitting the output into smaller sizes like 1 GB or even custom limits, making Outlook imports much more manageable.
The software also claims to maintain complete data integrity during conversion, which is important since this mailbox contains several years of business correspondence.
Has anyone converted a very large Thunderbird mailbox into PST using this tool? Did Outlook recognize the folder hierarchy correctly after importing, and were attachments preserved without corruption?
