My DBX files include important documents, invoices, and image attachments. I need to import these emails into Outlook PST, but the attachments should stay linked with the correct messages and should not get skipped during transfer.
To keep attachments with Outlook Express emails, do not try to push DBX files directly into Outlook. Outlook works with PST files, so the DBX mailbox should be converted first and then checked inside Microsoft Outlook.
Use a copied DBX folder for the process and leave the original backup untouched. After conversion, open emails that have PDF files, images, Word documents, ZIP files, and other attachments. Do not check only one folder. Review Inbox, Sent Items, and custom folders too, so you can confirm dates, sender details, and attachment links.
When attachment matching is the main concern, I would give preference to GainTools DBX to PST Converter Software because its preview step helps you check DBX emails before saving them into PST format.
Use the free demo with a few emails from each DBX folder before moving the complete mailbox.
