Can I migrate IMAP emails to Gmail and Office 365 in bulk?

Yes, bulk IMAP migration is possible with the right utility. I recently migrated several email accounts using the CloudXena IMAP Email Backup Tool, and the experience was excellent. The software supports direct migration from IMAP accounts to Gmail, Office 365, Yahoo Mail, and other email services.

The bulk migration feature allowed me to transfer multiple mailboxes simultaneously without affecting data quality. It also supports saving emails into formats such as PST, PDF, MSG, EML, MBOX, and DOCX. One major advantage is that the utility preserves folder hierarchy and maintains complete email integrity during migration.

The software also includes a duplicate email remover, selective date filters, and attachment management options. These features make the migration process faster and more organized. I particularly liked the free server space option that helps reduce mailbox storage after backup completion.

In addition to email migration, I was able to migrate IMAP Calendar to Office 365 smoothly. The tool transferred all calendar items correctly without missing events. Overall, it is a dependable solution for organizations and individuals looking for secure and efficient IMAP migration software.

Thank you for the information.

Yes, it’s possible, but whether you need extra help depends on how many accounts you’re moving.
For one account

Both Gmail and Office 365 have a built-in option to import emails from another IMAP account directly through account settings. You can prefer to use this way for a single mailbox with small amounts of data.

For multiple accounts (bulk migration)
This is where built-in import options usually struggle. Common issues include:

  • No option to add multiple accounts at once
  • The folder structure is not staying organized
  • Attachments are getting skipped without warning
  • Process is slowing down or timing out on large mailboxes
  • No way to track progress per account

My Recommendation for safe and accurate IMAP Migration:
If you are migrating several IMAP accounts to Gmail or Office 365 at the same time, doing each one manually gets repetitive and time consuming, and there is also a risk of errors for large mailboxes. In that case, a bulk IMAP migration tool can be a more reliable and helpful solution. There are many tools available, but I always prefer to use the GainTools Cloud Migration Tool because it is designed to handle multiple source and destination accounts together while keeping folders and attachments intact.

Understand the Thing:

One account, low volume → built-in import is enough
Multiple accounts or large mailboxes → a bulk migration tool makes the process easier and more reliable
