How is Privilege Leave / Earned leave credited?

Hi,

How is Privilege Leave / Earned leave credited. What is the procedure. Pls let me know in the end of December it is calculated and carried forward to next year or credited for the current year. For eg. if anyone joins in March 2021 how PL will be credited in 2022 Jan.

Hi,

There are two rules while crediting PL as per company discretions:

  1. PL need to credit for current year as per the attendance of preceding year. Employee will be eligible to get PL who was present for 240 days in the preceding year.
  2. PL need to credit for current year as per the attendance of current year. Employees shall be entitled to 1.25 days of earned leave for every completion of 20 physical days in a month.

In my company we follow the second option.

Hi,

The Privilege Leave / Earned leave is calculated as 1 leave for every 20 calendar days and it is credited either monthly/quarterly/bi-annually/annually as per company policy.
In the above example, the employee will be entitled to a proportionate leave from March 2021 to December 2021. In January his earlier leaves will be carry forwarded and leaves for 2022 will be credited.
