Dear Wonderful people,

Can anyone suggest a good health insurance provider, if you can share the contact details please. As we are about to renew our medical insurance, we want to evaluate other options.

There are a number of policies in the market offered by various insurers. A few of the most popular ones are -

  • HDFC Ergo Optima Restore - perfect fit for individuals and HDFC boasts one of the largest hospital networks.

  • Star health comprehensive - a decent option for well-round protection for your family.

  • Max Bupa ReAssure - extremely economical, restores cover unlimited times, and health checkups are covered from day 1.

  • Star Health Young Star - one of the most economical options for younger individuals

  • HDFC Ergo Energy: If you’re diabetic or suffering from Hypertension, then Energy is for you, considering the fact that the insurer covers all complications arising out of these chronic diseases from Day 1.

But before you get into understanding policies, you need to select the right insurer.

Generally, a good way to judge an insurer is to check their claim settlement ratio and network hospitals. Any insurer who has a claim settlement ratio of more than 85% is considered to be financially sound. And the number of network hospitals should be more in the place of your stay. So that you have a wide range of options to choose from when you want to get hospitalized.

HI Ludy - We earlier had Star Health Insurance and HDFC ergo. For last two years we have signed up with ICICI Lombard.

Thank you for the information - we currently have ICICI Lombard, and our employees have concerns on their claim … so I was thinking of checking other providers
