My Outlook suddenly stopped opening yesterday, and every time I launch it, I receive an error saying the Outlook data file cannot be accessed. The PST file contains almost five years of client emails, invoices, and project discussions, so losing it isn’t an option. I searched online and found Microsoft’s ScanPST utility, but after running it several times, the problem still wasn’t completely fixed. Has anyone successfully managed to repair corrupted Outlook PST file issues when ScanPST wasn’t enough?
From what I’ve experienced, the built-in Inbox Repair Tool works only for minor corruption. If the PST file is badly damaged, Outlook may continue crashing, folders may disappear, or some emails may never return. Creating a new PST file also doesn’t help if the original mailbox itself is corrupted. That’s exactly the situation I’m facing now, and I really don’t want to risk losing important attachments or mailbox folders while experimenting with different manual fixes.
