Are contract employees also entitled to maternity benefits? What are the qualifying details?

Hi Ramya

Yes, as per the act any woman employed, whether regular or contractual, who has completed 80 days in the preceding 12 months is applicable to avail of the benefit.

Thank you @manjot.singh for the quick update.

I guess then this employee doesnt get eligible. We had hired a female employee for 6 month contract basis, now after 2 months she is moving for maternity benefits.
