Can I ask my HR why I got less salary this month when I actually got more salary last month?

So the thing is- I got x amount last month after all the deductions but this month I got a lesser one. The deuctions are right this time but wrong last time. Sould I go and ask ? Will the deduct the extra amount from the next salary?
