A large DBX mailbox can be exported to PST but it should not be handled like a normal small mail folder. Large DBX files may fail during manual import because Outlook Express data is old and newer Outlook versions do not read DBX files directly.
Use a copied DBX file for testing and keep the original mailbox backup safe. Also make sure the destination drive has enough free space before creating the PST. After export, check random emails from the start, middle and end of the mailbox to confirm dates, attachments and folder order.
