Disciplinary Measures for Employees

Can you please share the best practice in India connected to disciplinary measures.

Is it same as

  1. Verbal warning
  2. first warning
  3. second warning
  4. third & final warning
  5. dismissal

There are two distinct approaches

  1. As per company standing orders/code of conduct and appeal rules
  2. As per relevant IR or ID Act/Rules (states form rules) - this is very tricky in unionised environment

Sorry Ludy, I do not have current knowledge on this. Rquesting fellow members with expertise to share required information. Please share the important aspects to be considered while framing a disciplinary proceedings or policy in a unionised organization (where ID Act or IR Act is applicable)
