Hi Team,

Its relates something to the ESI Contribution.

In my company we have overall 150 employees in which only 7 employees is having their gross less than 21K(which is ESI limit).

But still we have to pay ESI for those employees or we no need to pay for them?

Please help.

Hi Jyoti,

If you are looking for step-by -step procedure to remit ESI in the portal, please refer this link ESI Return Filing: Penalty for Late Filing wherein I had shared the process to file a NIL returns.

You have to visit the ESI portal and do the online remittance and generate challan there.

Hi Udhai,

If your establishment falls within the prescribed ESI coverage comprising employees eligible for ESI, then the answer is yes. You have to register with ESI and provide the benefits to those employees.
Please visit https://www.greythr.com/wiki/acts/employees-state-insurance-act1948 &
https://www.esic.nic.in/attachments/files/faq.pdf for further clarifications if any.

Hai. It’s mandatory to pay esi even if eligible employee count is “1”. You cannot exclude from the esic once registered.

Hi,

You have to get enroll for ESI if an organization is having equal to or more than 20 employees irrespective of an employee count you need to remit ESI . If it is one employee also you need to remit his/her ESI contribution.
