Usually, I notice a flood of job postings on LinkedIn from various recruiters, each asking for different ways of interaction. Some wants us to comment on their post for them to review our page, others suggest connecting or sending resumes via WhatsApp with provided numbers, and a few even include random links or personal email IDs. What surprises me is how many of these profiles lack basic information like an updated “about” section or recent job experience with reputable companies.
With the rise in online fraud and scams, it’s becoming highly difficult to distinguish genuine hiring opportunities from those aimed at boosting their profiles or worse, deceiving job seekers. How can one safely navigate these postings and identify legitimate opportunities amidst potential scams? I would appreciate any advice or insights on this matter.
The point you have raised is very genuine. Even I have faced some situation like this but that is into a different scale all together. What’s happening is just not this. Companies are now stooping to new low levels. They are starting to steal your ideas in the name of sharing some assignments based on a problem statement (which is a real problem company is facing) and then once you submit the assignment they will abruptly close the position saying that position is no longer considered, or they have done some internal hiring. (real case which i faced).
After that incident I have started to reach out to the company directly and i request them to connect me with the recruiter so that I can understand how genuinely they are looking for hiring. That way i feel more confident in spending my valuable time onto something and not to worry of getting my ideas stolen,
