Hi,

How much HRA exemption can be claimed, if we stay in a rented house for only part of the year(covid scenario)?

Please advise.

No exemption and there is no official statement regarding the same.

Only for covid there’s no such schemes, but in general you can claim HRA if you’re in a rented house or as per the conditions laid for HRA to claim.

There is an option to choose the period while claiming HRA, so you can opt for 3 month or 6 months showing the valid proof.

But only for Covid there is no separate law as @Bharath mentioned.
