ITR filing deadline for FY21 extended by two months to September 30, 2021
“The government extended the deadline to file income tax return (ITR) for FY21 for individuals by two months to September 30, 2021 from the current deadline of July 31, 2021. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), via a circular issued on May 20, 2021, stated, "The due date of furnishing of Return of Income for the Assessment Year 2021-22, which is 31 st July 2021 under sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Act, is extended to 30th September 2021.”
