Hi,

Is it mandatory for new employee to provide the details of the previous employment to the new employer in Form 12B?

No,

but employer has to remind their mid year joined employees for submitting the previous employer income.

Hi Manasa

It is not mandatory but if it is given easy to calculate TDS and filing also will be easier. If not while filing return they have to show separately and merge that time TDS will be more and by that time interest also will be added.
So it is always better to give previous employment details.
