Hi,

Can husband and wife working in different organizations submit same documents in their organization as investment proofs? if possible, what is the process? .

Please suggest.

You cannot claim deduction on same documents.

@Swati It’s not possible/legally not right to submit the same documents. If it is a documents for Housing loan with joint ownership then they can claim only 50% of the total amount.

Hi,

In the case of joint ownership of house property, both Husband and Wife can claim tax exemptions.
Along with the required documents you have to get the declaration from the other joint owner about the percentage of distribution.

Legally no. Yes it happens when husband and wife are working in different companies because no HR will look into detail, when spouse is not working in the same organisation
