Hi Priya, pleasure to take your 1st question. On-boarding is an employee & employer interactive process and hence, it need to be seamless, yet the purpose of authentication should be served, hence it is important that we have the process of digital interactive like signing in clicking on a link received through a SMS, auto generate of the OTP, post login in, submission of the documents and validation of the same. Organizations can design them keeping these aspects in mind.

Hi Nitin, We need to not make multiple on-boarding program, rather in a single on-boarding program we should have the provision to choose from the type of employees like Perm staff, Apprentices, Consultant, etc. Likewise in case of contract staff, the vendor on-boarding tool should have the provision to choose the contract period as base. Example is Gi-suite.

Hi Namita, pleasure to have your question, interesting one. Well, Technolgy cuts across all business need and give us ease of doing it and hence, onboarding is also impacted with the inclusion and advent of digital tools, digital tools help in terms of not only employee on-boarding but all supplier onboarding and tracking their aging and retrieval of data etc. This helps in business continuity and sustainability.

How can HR leaders ensure that the onboarding programs are inclusive and welcoming to employees of diverse backgrounds?

1st thing, leaders need to ensure that it is a digital on-boarding tool and adoption of the same through governance. They need to also ensure the designed tool give them the diversity enrolling facility and if not then they need to have it upgraded and there upon ensure usage and walk the talk.

What role do managers play in effective onboarding programs and how can they be trained?

Managers need to ensure adoption through governance and thus their role is a challenging one, to ensure adoption they first need to be sure about the distinct modules and the utility of them, navigation features and properties of the tool. They need to be trained and they need to ensure effective training sessions, quiz sessions and also open to take feedback.

It shall reduce the paperwork, digital interactions will mean ease of doing business, save time and better utilization of time, thus making it more productive. This has a positive effect on the employee experience, this all enables remote onboarding.
