Can an employer reduce salaries for the time period because sales are bad loss?

Hi,

Many times companies decide to decrease or cutoff the employee salary due to recession, losses, lower profits from the company side. Companies also cutoff employee salaries due to weak performance, no target achievements etc.

In fact due to covid many companies are under bad loss and they have reduced their employee salaries with employees consent.

But a proper communication should be shared with your employee with his/her acknowledgment.
