Hi,

Hi,
Any exemption will appear in Form 16 if an employee submitted the supporting investment proof to their employer for which tax deduction can be granted subject to satisfying other conditions.
I hope your query is answered with the above statement.
Hi Nisha, Employer is not entitled to provide the deduction under 80G in Form 16 ,employee can claim only at filing their ITR.
Regards,
it is always better to ask employee to get the exemption while filing return… it is difficult for the employer to check on % of exemption allowed by dept…
i also suggest GREYTHR to delete option in IT savings in the portal

80 G Deduction should not be given by Employer as sometimes it becomes difficult to know the % of exemption allowed for particular deduction.
Employee can claim the same while filling the IT returns.
In case donation is made to funds which have a maximum limit of 10% of Gross Total Income, deductions in such cases cannot be claimed through the employer . Deductions for such donations can only be claimed at the time of filing of income tax returns.
