Can you please guide me on the complete process to be followed for hiring an NRI employee in India?

Hi @balakumarpgdm

There are no separate procedures as such to be kept in mind, but some documents to be collected will change.

Currently with this pandemic lot of companies hiring are borderless and global work space has been trending now.

Documents which are additional are likely:

ID Proof Copy of Passport or,

  • National ID where he is a National and that attested by or,
  • Indian Embassy / Consulate / High Commission /Apostille or,
  • Person of Indian Origin (PIO): A foreign nation of Indian Origin or,
  • can produce POI issued by Government of India or,
  • Copy of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card issued by GOI)

Etc.

There is a taxation rule where if the NRI earns in INDIA and stays more than 182 days then it’s a normal tax rule, else the tax rules are different.
