Yes, you can do monthly grant.
However suggest to continue yearly grant for SL. To further streamline you could put a clause of Medical Certificate when an employee exercises more than ‘x’ days of Sick Leave in a single instance.

Yes, we have already mentioned the clause of the Medical Certificate in case the Sick Leave is more than 3 days.
As per Maharashtra Shops & Establishment Amendment Act, 2 Casual Leaves (total 8 leaves annually) needs to be credited to the individual on a quarterly basis. Please check the rule for your respective state and type of industry.

Most of the states have defined minimum leave requirements. Common is for every 20 employee working days 1 Leave has to be granted to the employee. Keeping that clause in mind it is better to have one leave type and grant it on a monthly basis.

We grant earned leave based on the below criteria!
During the previous month, for every 20 days of actual work put in by him, an employee becomes eligible for one earned leave.
Then it should not be a concern to grant as you have mentioned.
