Here are some amazing facts about women’s inequalities -

  1. 1 in 3 women around the world experience violence.

  2. 58% of all women murdered in 2017 were killed by an intimate partner or a family member.

  3. Around 650 million women across the globe were married before the age of 18.

  4. Over 200 million women and girls in 30 countries have undergone female genital mutilation.

  5. 71% of all human trafficking involves women and girls – mainly for sexual exploitation.

  6. 1 in 5 female refugees and internally displaced people have experienced sexual violence in countries affected by conflict.

  7. Over 2.7 billion women don’t have the same work opportunities as men.

  8. Less than 15% of landholders worldwide are women, despite most women in the global south working in agriculture.

A bit sad after reading this post but at the same time a little bit more enlightened about the scars of our society. My heart with those who deals with these inequalities.
