Full & Final Settlement

most of the companies process the salary of resigned employees in 45 days in Full & Final Settlement. Is there any reason behind it. I understand because of Gratuity and other leave encashment calculation settlement they take time. But apart from that is there any other reason behind it.

45 days is not necessary but a lot of companies set 30-45 days as a SLA. Also if there are no proper systems in place, it can take a lot of time to collect inputs from various departments and process FFS.

Also as per Gratuity rules, employer has to specify the amount payable and mention the date of payment within 15 days of receipt of application. The payment must be made within 30 days from the date of receipt of application.
