On Job Training (OJT) is conducted the junior employee to teach operation of some machine, usage of some tools etc.
OJT is also conducted on the soft aspects like how to attend the call, how to handle customers, how to operate some software. OJT is also conducted for the salespersons to monitor their sales call.
Department’s managers can conduct the OJT and training department may or may not be involved. However, what matters is maintenance of the proper records of the OJT. I recommend you approaching some big company and find out what type of OJT is conducted in that company.
