If the employee in India do not want to night shift, can we force him to?

May I know what is the nature of the work of the person?
Is doing a night shift part of the company structure?
Was this also mentioned in his appointment letter?

During the appointment you should have clear all the things like timing day shift or night shift etc.

Hi @Roy If employee do not want to work in Night Shift than company can give option in other shifts if day shifts available than only, but no company can force any employee to work in Night Shift. Shift timing should be clear at the time of hiring the employee. If employee has agreed at the time of joining to work in Night shift and now he dont want to work than also its a different case. HR should clear to new joinee about the Terms and conditions of the company.
