Dear Experts,

The employer is required to pay both PF & ESI contributions if an employee is on maternity leave with ESI eligibility. In addition, the ESI department is now paying her maternity leave salary.

Yes, the employer is mandated to cover both PF and ESI contributions for an employee on maternity leave who is eligible for ESI benefits. Additionally, the ESI department is responsible for providing her with maternity leave salary.

Yes, if an employee is on maternity leave and eligible for ESI benefits, the employer is required to pay both PF (Provident Fund) and ESI (Employee State Insurance) contributions on behalf of the employee during the maternity leave period
