HR platforms have improved a lot over the past few years, but they still leave gaps that HR teams deal with every day.
We’ve seen AI-powered recruiting, automated onboarding, performance tracking, and employee self-service become standard features. Yet many teams still rely on spreadsheets or manual workarounds for certain tasks.
If you could add one feature to every modern HR platform, what would it be? Whether it’s better AI assistance, stronger analytics, easier integrations, improved compliance, or something completely different, I’m curious to hear what you think is still missing.
For me, it’s a truly intelligent employee dashboard that doesn’t just show data, but actually helps people prioritize. Instead of digging through leave balances, performance goals, training, approvals, and company announcements across different pages, the platform should surface what needs attention today based on the user’s role.
Another area that’s still surprisingly weak is internal career growth. Most HR platforms track employees well, but very few actively connect people with relevant internal job openings, mentors, or learning opportunities based on their skills and interests.
HR software has become great at collecting information, but there’s still room for improvement when it comes to turning that information into useful, proactive guidance for both employees and managers.
