Can anyone help me to understand why PF passbook is getting updated past 3 months? (Pune) even if the contribution is paid from employer /employee both but the total is stagnant.

You need to inform your local PF office. They will help you.

I believe it should be mainly a technical glitch for such things to happen, but we do see this happening lot of times.
As of now the remedy would be to contact the PF office and enquire - Now they do support in twitter, if you find one, you can do that also.
