What are the formalities to be done for the employee joining back to office after her maternity leave?

From a compliance perspective, HR has to file ceetain returns (based on state rules).

Apart from this you have to ensure that the employee is comfortable, able to take care of the new born (there can be specific requirements like break time to feed baby, WFH for a few days, additional leaves for baby care etc.) without much difficulty.

State wise this can vary. For example, Karnataka, Annual Returns and details of payment ending 31st Dec.Forms K, L, and M - Annual Return
