Gratuity & Leave Encashment exemption are limited to Rs. 20.00 lakh & Rs. 25.00 lakh respectively. This cap it to be considered for amount received during total service life & not for individual employment.
It is difficult to establish if employee has already claimed these exemptions earlier & what is the total claimed amount. Can any body share a format of declaration to be obtained from employee to safeguard interest

Organization can take a notarized affidavit from the employee stating the details.
This will be helpful to get the right declaration from the employee.
