Hi @Sathish_J08

Good internship programs treat junior workers as real staff members who perform worthwhile tasks. These programs:

  • Evaluate potential hires’ skills on the job. You can assess an intern’s work performance before deciding to extend an employment offer to them.

  • Cultivate teaching and leadership skills. Current employees develop their training abilities as they hire and mentor interns.

  • Reveal areas for improvement. Interns offer new perspectives and may ask questions that challenge the status quo.

  • Showcase your company. Internships can be a valuable way of connecting with recent graduates who will learn your company culture and may be prime candidates to fill entry-level roles in the future.

Good internships are a boost to your employer brand and a boon for your recruitment strategy. Define your needs for hiring interns and structure a program to hire qualified people who will add value to your company.

  1. Step 1 - Create a purpose statement defining your goals
  2. Step 2 - Decide what kind of program you are going to offer
  3. Step 3 - Create a timeline
  4. Step 4 - Develop assignments.
  5. Step 5 – Create a budget
  6. Step 6 – Recruit
  7. Step 7 – Evaluate

To Succeed:

  1. Establish an intern program coordinator.
  2. Give each intern a mentor or “buddy.”
  3. Set goals and workloads.
  4. Make intern development a daily commitment.
  5. Stay in touch

Structuring your internship program

  1. The internship is similar to training that would be given in an educational environment.
  2. The full experience is purely for the benefit of the intern.
  3. The intern doesn’t replace regular employees but still works closely with existing staff.
  4. The employer receives no immediate advantage from the work the intern does; in fact, operations may be impeded.
  5. There is no job guaranteed at the end of the internship.
  6. Both the intern and employer know there are no expectations for wages

INTERNSHIP POLICY

The Internship Program is part of the company’s endeavour to attract the best possible talent and the brightest minds. Internships at XYZ is aim to provide young professionals with a platform where they can gain exposure to a vibrant and challenging work environment during their academic studies.

What Students Gain :

  3. Work & learn from experts of the business

  4. Develop flair and knowledge in our unique culture

  5. Grow network of like-minded interns and professionals

XYZ provides the following internship opportunities to students as below:

  1. Short Period Internships - As a part of Educational Curriculum for Students which can benefit them from learning beyond the classroom where they gain hands-on experience. Stipend will be paid to such interns. The Maximum Duration for such interns will be 2 months .

  2. Evaluate Future Prospects for Employment - MBA and Graduate interns are expected to contribute to the success of XYZ through innovative ideas and value creation gained both in school and through previous work experience (if any). Recent graduates often possess fresh knowledge, allowing them to be the pioneers of our company. Based on successful performance and the talent needs of our business, few interns may have the opportunity to become full-time employees. Interns may get nominal Stipend of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000 based on Qualification for first 3 months of internship. As per law, we cannot hire interns beyond a specific time frame as such interns are then deemed to be employees of the organisation and XYZ becomes liable for all statutory compliances like PF, ESIC, etc. So the Performance evaluation of such interns will be conducted at the end of 3 months and appropriate action will be initiated i.e. Employment Opportunity or End of Internship Period for such interns .

All Internship offers must be pre-approved by Respective Department Head and HR and documentation for the same will be prepared by HR.
