I saw a previous post on this community regarding interns, however had 2 questions in mind regarding offering internships. Would appreciate your answers.
- What is the maximum time limit set by law regarding the number of hours an intern can work per week for the organization? (If there exists any)
- Can a 3 months’ internship be further extended to 3 more months with an increase in stipend?

Paid interns are company employees, even if they’re trainees. As employees, they’re entitled to at least a minimum wage and to overtime pay if they work more than 40 hours a week.
And internship extension till one year is of no problem, and many companies even today extend internship beyond 12 months with a small gap inbetween and re hire the same interns.
As a practice 1 year internship is advisable, and post that either hiring them or relieving them is a good choice.
