A woman employee who has delivered a Still Born, Please let us know the eligibility for maternity benefits.

Hi Karuna,

As per the Maternity Benefit Act,

Under Section 3 (b) “child” includes a still-born child.

So all the benefits apply as prescribed under the act. Merely for the reason of ‘still-born’ the benefits are not withdrawn.

Recently the government has released a notification that supports and adds value to women employees (but applicable only for government employees); hope this expands to private organization soon.
