We are in Retail of readymade garments and comes under the Shop and Commercial Establishment Act. As per the Act, we are maintaining the Attendance Register (Form - G). Now we have installed the Biometric attendance machine for attendance. My question - Is there any need of manual attendance register to maintain by signing the individual employees?
Recently I was discussing the issue with few of the S&E inspectors, they are very cooperative and agreed that if we make the format provided by them in the softcopy, then we can maintain the same. They also informed that if we ask our bio-mteric vendor to design the forms as per the S&E then it will be a good idea. You can also take an exemption from the labour office if you have more than 500 employees.
