PENSION CONTRIBUTION NOT RECD, Transfer claim rejected

Hello experts,

My previous employer never contribute into the EPS. I checked my PF passbook in pension share column it is 0 (zero).
Now when I raise request to transfer PF balance to current employer, it was approved by previous employer but it got rejected by EPFO (Rejected by field officer) with below reason.

  1. PENSION CONTRIBUTION NOT RECD
  2. FATHERS NAME DIFFERS

I am trying to transfer my PF balance from exempted establishment to Non exempted establishment.

Thanks in advance.

Transferring your Provident Fund (PF) balance can sometimes be complex, especially when there are issues related to pension contributions and discrepancies in personal details. Here’s a step-by-step guide to address the issues you’ve mentioned:

1. Pension Contribution Not Received

This indicates that your previous employer did not contribute to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS). Here’s what you can do:

  • Contact Previous Employer: Reach out to your previous employer’s HR or payroll department to confirm if EPS contributions were made. If not, ask them to rectify this by making the necessary contributions.
  • EPF Grievance Portal: If your previous employer is unresponsive or unwilling to resolve the issue, you can lodge a complaint on the EPF Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS). You can visit the portal here.

2. Father’s Name Differs

Discrepancies in personal details can lead to rejection of the transfer request. Here’s how to resolve it:

  • Correcting Personal Details: You need to correct your father’s name either in your current or previous PF account. This can be done through your employer. Submit a joint declaration form (duly signed by both employee and employer) to your current EPFO office. The form can be downloaded from the EPFO website.

3. Transfer from Exempted to Non-Exempted Establishment

Given that you’re transferring from an exempted to a non-exempted establishment:

  • Exempted Establishment: These are organizations that manage their own PF trusts and maintain their own accounts but are governed by the EPF Act.
  • Non-Exempted Establishment: These are organizations where the PF is managed by the EPFO.

Ensure that your previous employer has correctly updated all necessary details and settled the accounts with the EPFO. Sometimes, delays or discrepancies in the data shared by the exempted trust can cause issues.

Steps to Take

  1. Verify Pension Contributions:
  • Confirm with your previous employer if EPS contributions were made.
  • If contributions were not made, request them to make the necessary payments to the EPFO.
  1. Correct Father’s Name Discrepancy:
  • Fill out the joint declaration form with correct details.
  • Submit the form to the EPFO office through your current employer.
  1. Lodge a Grievance:
  • If the issues persist, lodge a grievance on the EPF Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS). Provide all relevant details and documents.
  1. Resubmit Transfer Request:
  • Once the issues are resolved, resubmit your PF transfer request through the Unified Portal.

Hi Niral,
I am stuck in exactly same situation. Did you make any progress with these 2 issues, while I understand it has been only 4 days since you raised this query here.

Thanks,
Jai
