Every company may have its own policy for re-hires .Generally the rules for probation and confirmation stands same for rehired and new hires . Hence employee may need to complete the term for probation to be confirmed .
Hi,
In my opinion, if an employee resigns and joining back then you need to treat him/her as new joinee and need to follow one thumb rule what generally company follow for new joinees irrespective of their short or long break.
